Automatically swap to push to talk
Looking for the functionality for discord to automatically swap to push to talk when joining a channel that only allows push to talk and then swap back to the users preference after leaving the push to talk only channel.

This would be a great feature. Instead of having to manually go into settings and change it, pop up a notification like now about the channel requiring PTT, Inform the user that their settings have been temporarily set to use PTT and what their PTT key is.
And if the user's PTT is unbound, warn the user about it and provide a link that takes them to the revelant settings screen.

As someone who's in a mixture of open-mic and PTT-only servers, I would love for Discord to automatically switch my input mode based on the server I join!

This feature is so simple, requested a year ago, but somehow still wasn't implemented? Idk anyone who likes digging into settings when it's required why not automate it? C'mon Discord. :/

I've been desperate for this feature lately. I spend half my time in a channel that requires PTT, and half in channels for a game where Voice Activation is much preferred. Just let me set it on a per-channel or per-server basis!

I go back and forth a lot between channels that require PTT and channels that don't. I would find this incredibly useful for games like Rocket League where PTT just isn't possible.

I, too, would love this feature. It's annoying having to bounce back and forth. I like the key-bind idea, as well. But I would much prefer to be able to tell each server what my preference is, that way when I switch to it, I'm automatically configured.

Agreed. I actually think that following the channel setting should be the default behavior.
It would make onboarding new users easier if they didn't have to fiddle with settings the first time they visit a server.

I think this was actually implemented in some form recently. I got a prompt the other day when I joined a channel saying I needed to use push to talk along with a button that switched me to it when I clicked.

You can set a channel to force users to switch to PTT (and that is the message you saw), but when you leave that channel, you have to manually change it back to Voice Detection. Would be cool to switch to your previous settings after leaving that channel.

I'd love this on the user side. As with one of the above posters, I'm a mix of PTT and open mic, on a server-by-server basis, and I'm not in control of any of the servers I inhabit (even if I wanted to force my personal preference on everyone else using the server).
It would be nice if Discord could have a per-server (or better yet, per-channel) setting to choose between "force PTT" / "force-open" / "config default".
