  this probably won't ever happen since both the app store and gPlay require a cut of profits from subscriptions sold in-app.

  As you know, Discord is available on both App Store and Google Play Store. If Discord Nitro was able to be purchased using mobile devices, both the App Store and Google Play Store would take some amount of money from those purchases and Discord would not receive the full amount to buy Discord Nitro.
