What: A feature of channels allowing server owners/admins to designate for how long after a message is posted it is allowed to be edited or deleted.

Why: Disallowing the "changing of history" by potentially malicious users.

Sub-feature: A sub-permission of "Manage Messages" determining whether or not the role can manage messages after the modifying timeframe.

  Having a sliding scale to pick custom times on message deletion/editing permissions would be fantastic, too.

  Do you mean like, the timestamp you get when hovering over the edited tag; to show users exactly when a message was edited, without the chance of a mod forgetting to manually do the same thing?
