Displaying Discord Notifcations on the Phone and the Computer at the same time.
Alright, so this a random but possibly helpful thought: could the next update possibly add the ability to make notifications display on my computer and my phone at the same time, cause I most often have my computer and my phone discord activated at the same time as I typically play with the sound off on my computer, and when I do, I typically don't hear the notification sound, but I do have my phone on me at all times usually hooked to my headphones, so I can hear notifications most of the time. However, having the app on the computer overrides receiving notifications on my phones version of it. I would like to ask is it possible to have a switch for people who do what I do when it comes to discord that allows them to receive notifications on their devices, even if the computer app is opened.

You're welcome onewaydown! I have added another tool which forcibly triggers the idle timeout for those who are unable to fix their phantom input issues. Check the github page and read the "Discord Notification Forcer" section!
I would also like to have a native option to send all notifications regardless but they might be avoiding re-implementing this as a cost saving measure, which is quite shameful.

Found this by searching for how to make.it so my phone gets notifications when discord on my PC I minimized. Really disappointed to see that after 2 years of people asking, this still isn't possible. Please make this change!

I concur with this request! I'm the kind of person who never turns off their computer, and my preferred mouse sensitivity is high enough that my computer rarely goes to sleep, so I basically never get notifications on my phone. I want to be able to glance at messages without interrupting a game session, or get alerted while I'm at work when something is happening on a server that I have mod privileges on. Some people (like myself) liked how it was before, so we should be able to choose if we receive notifications on both desktop and phone when actively using one device.

please we need this function!

Agreed.

Really, two years and still nothing. Great support. This kind of sh*t makes an otherwise great platform practically unusable.

This issue has been bothering me for so long, thanks to the tool provided by xavier I was able to locate that it was a USB joystick causing my PC to not appear as idle. However, the notifications should have a timeout setting of 0, which would have prevented this (notification instantly goes to both PC and mobile).

+1. We really need this, I work on my PC and usually have it ON all day, but that doesn't mean I'm all day on the PC, so I would like to get discord notifications as we use the app for work.

Hopefully if this keeps getting bumped the development team will take notice. This is a regular frustration while using Discord and having the option to get all notifications on all devices would make a huge difference for me.

I want this feature because I need to run the Discord for PC app but I also want to continue being notified of receiving messages when I am not sitting at my PC. Every other messenger I use supports simultaneous PC+mobile notifications, why not Discord?

Not only does it not give you the notifications on your phone when you have the PC app open, it will push all the unread notifications to your phone after you quit out the PC app.
Please add an option to have notifications appear on both the phone and PC at the same time.
Thank you!

Seriously I can't always check my computer for Discord notifications.
Like if I'm in a mood where I just want to lie down I would like to be able to get my notifications but for some reason I cannot and that's frustrating.
When I'm out of the house I rely on push notifications from apps, but even with my computer off there are none at all from Discord.
When will this be fixed? I even pay for Nitro and it's not a perk either. This should be a built-in feature free for all.

I created a second Discord account that is for my mobile only just to deal with this. Not ideal but at least I can get channel notifications and direct message notifications from certain other users who have my new handle.

Nothing more frustrating then having a "want to play" message notification from a friend pop on mobile 2 hours after it was sent... Please add support for simultaneous notifications. 🙏

bumping the thread because we need this option like 3 yearsago.

Really need this feature. I have discord open on three separate computers at all times that never go idle. I really need notifications on my phone so when my wife wants something and I'm not at my PC I stop getting yelled at for ignoring her. Please discord help save my marriage.

Two years later, and this *still* isn't fixed.

+1 for me.
Super sad to see that after 2 years there is still no real option. I mean discord even gives me the sound notification when I COMPLETLY closed it on PC. And even if that's just a "me" bug, it's still SO anyoing to tab out while playing a game to see the message, if the other option would be to get it on my phone!!2 -
+1 The number of times I miss messages because of this is too high! Please stick an intern on this or something, it can't be that hard and this thread is over 2 years old.

I'll add to the chorus of annoyed users. My wife never gets my messages because of this.

I was shocked to recently learn about this limitation. It doesn't bother me too much, because my butt is nearly always planted squarely in front of my computer, but it's hard to convince others to use Discord as a replacement for social text messages when I can't tell them that they'll always see mobile notifications just like text notifications.
"I have to exit Discord on desktop in order to see mobile notifications? What???"
This is a basic quality of life issue, not new feature like most of the up-voted issues in Mobile. This should be bumped to the front of the queue.

It's so weird. Something simple like a toggle seems to be so difficult for ac company that seems to be worth billions of dollar. Every trainee would be able to implement such a simple feature.
I searched half an hour for a fix for the notification problems of my wife and just found this. Please Discord, just install something like slack to see how to manage notifications and just copy that.

I'm having a similar experience except I'm not even using my computer, I have inconsistent mobile notifications regardless. It's frustrating.

In settings on PC I went to notifications and set timeout to 1 min that seems to fix it, although I wish it was possible to just turn off timeout all together

Just wanted to add this link as well. It's an equally old and ignored message by the Discord team. Hopefully upvoting each issue might bring some more attention to it.

This is a year-old thread that still has not been addressed by Discord. Why is this still not a thing when the coding for it actually isn't that complex? Indian Army Rally Bharti

This is actually ridiculous. For a company that brags about its usefulness to gamers all year long, you would think they'd have this implemented already. FIX IT!

+1 Yes please give us the option to have notifications pop on both pc and mobile.

+1 to this.

Add another looking for this to work better. I've been looking for a chat system I can use with a better payment program for smaller groups than Slack, but I need notifications everywhere at once.
