Allow pasting of mime-types other than image/png
Right now, the Discord client (on Linux at least), will not paste if the content in the X11 clipboard has a mime-type other than image/png. This means that JPEG's, GIF's, WebM's, etc, cannot be pasted into the Discord client. Instead, you have to drag these files manually from a graphical file manager (installing one if necessary), or worse, navigate to the file using the built-in upload dialog.
As a side note, the keybindings in the upload dialog do not behave as expected (Escape should cancel the dialog).
EDIT: Thanks for the downvotes, but it doesn't really help. If you're going to downvote, please at least comment why. This is basic functionality that every other program has, which Discord should have included from the get-go.

Just wanted to comment, even though this is quite old, that I have no idea why you were downvoted. Not only does it not support mime types other than image/png, it also does not know how to deal with pasting file paths directly into the client when you copy something from a GUI file manager (it just does nothing, nothing is pasted).
If you are having this problem, the best solution is drag and drop, which is even available in file managers such as ranger and nnn if you don't use a full GUI file manager most of the time.

I'm not sure if it's a Discord specific issue, as I've noticed other native-web IM clients such as Riot (now Element) have the same issue, although they have an issue with PNG, whereas Discord's issue is JPEG.
For now, I've been using dragon-drag-and-drop with Ranger, but I'd much prefer copy/paste.
