  The x button can also can sometimes overlap or be very close to the add reaction button, causing accidental misclicks which can't be undone. Plus, this doesn't show up in the audit log, so you don't know who to blame! I would understand slightly more if this feature was only temporary and client-side, but anyone with manage messages can delete embeds for everyone with a single click, unlike deleting messages, which requires two clicks and shows up in audit log. I would be much happier if this feature were either placed in the menu of the message (alongside "pin", "delete", etc) and affected audit log, made only temporary (returns when reloaded or channels are switched) and only affected the user who hid the embed, or just removed altogether.

  This is a severe UI usability oversight on Discord's part in my opinion. Until there is an option to fix (unhide) what an accidental click can do, that x button should be removed from the UI. And this thread is now 6 months old!

  Looking for a solution for this I ran across a recently added command !toggleembed in GiselleBot's docs. Bad news, the command didn't work for me. Good news, a bug report and about 30 mins addressed that. Kudos to the cycloptux of GiselleBot.

  To add some evidence, the "x" button overlapping the reaction button is so bad that I'd go so far as to say it's a bug. 
  
  My discord uses a bot to post applications to our team, and we use an emoji to signify that the app has been responded to.

  Any time the "x" is visible, it is what will be clicked, even if the mouse is still hovering over the reaction button. 
  
  Luckily in this case, our form keeps a hard backup so I was able to replicate the post.

  It's been 2 years now since this was suggested, seeing who deleted an embed without deleting a message is a feature we really need

  Yes please Discord we need this feature - especially if this happens in an announcement channel.

  Why in the world can you remove it but not re-add.

  removing and re-pasting the links doesn't help
