Combining Channels

Let say you have two text channels #chat and a role locked channel called #roled-chat and you decide to only have one chat instead of two but don't want to lose the conversations that were said in either chat. It would be nice to be able to combine the channels and keep the messages and on-going conversations instead of having someone either screenshot or restart it in another channel.
