Focused Messages so they don't get lost in the chat

I was thinking it would be great if you could as the server owner or Officers could set an @message or message as a focus.
It could sit at the top of the channel in a strip of its own, out of the way for a period of time and then become a pin.
I find a lot of my announcements almost immediately get lost in the chat that comes after.

I know that you have Pins etc but they are not checked because there is no visual for people to see that will prompt them to look at it.

I know you could also have a separate channel for Announcements but some are just not worthy of that.
Just a thought for a new feature.

For example I did a Straw poll link for some fun and it just gets lost in the chat after and I don't really want heaps of chat channels to cover this sort of thing.
