Improve the UX for participating in large servers
Discord has added features like Server Insights which encourage servers to grow quite large. That's not a bad thing, but much of Discord's UX is built around the assumption that servers are small, intimate places for a few friends to hang out.
The most notable among these is the notification settings. Discord has made it easier to mute an entire server, which is a good first step, and once a server gets big enough they'll stop notifying you for every single message, which is also good.
I'm on a large server that has dozens of channels, with new ones being added often. Right now I can either have the server mark itself as unread either a) every time someone posts in any channel, or b) never.
I'd like to be able to follow a particular channel and have the "unread" light go on when someone posts in that channel. Right now the only way to do that is to mute every other channel on the server one at a time. There must be a better way.
