Option for us to have soft and hard blocking
as a fellow user i find that the blocking system in place does not seem to have quite much of an impact
as all it does it hide the blocked users messages to you but they can still read your chats fine
what i would like to suggest is 2 types of block number 1 which is the current block which is sort of a soft block and the second one would be something where after you hard block a user it would show the blocked user " You are blocked from viewing @name's messages" and as for the person blocking it would show something like "you have blocked @name, to view message please unblock" or something similar and actually not having a show message button like a soft block

Hm i don't see how this can improve discord.. imo the actual blocking system is good -2 -
Hard blocking doesn't really work for community messaging. If you can't see their messages and other people reply or talk to them you'll inevitably forget or be confused and interrupt things. You only really need hard blocking for DMs, which discord does have. Completely hiding their existence in a server full of other people will only cause confusion.

This could cause issues for server moderators and admins. If someone wanted to cause trouble in a Discord server all they would have to do is block all the authority figures in the server and they would be able to do whatever they wanted without the staff knowing. Additionally, the point of blocking is to prevent you from seeing their messages, not the other way around. 0
