What if there could be a Contains: filter for the search button up above the server member list? I think it would be much easier to find past messages with it

You could go up to the search button (otherwise known as logs) and type a contains filter, a colon, and then you could type it in, and press alt to complete it.

  I'm assuming you mean in a different way than the has: filter?
