The option to hide images/messages

I see that this has been requested in the past but nothing has been done, this post is to bring this issue back into light. Hiding images that I don't want to see is almost in every communication/social media app and is an essential feature. The images could cause epilepsy, contain NSFW content, or anything else I would want to see. Implementing this feature seems simple enough and could improve the experience of many users.
