Additional user chat mute/notifications options
While bumping a person's message tab to the top is helpful, it's only helpful when they're not at the top. I browse a lot of servers too, which means I could miss out on users messaging me if they're muted, especially if they remain at the top, and they don't have a new message indicator.
There's two ways I think this could be solved:
The first one, I would like to suggest adding a collapse for a second option that acts just like having DND status, but for specific people: Pop-ups & Sound Only. A notification shows in the upper left corner above the friends list as usual but doesn't send a pop-up nor play a sound.
Ideally, it'd look like this:
Right click a user -> Mute <name> menu:
-> Full mute (default if just clicking Mute <name>, behaves as Discord has it currently)
-> Pop-ups & Sound Only (what I'm suggesting here)
It'd be prudent to also include an option in the menus that allows the user to set which one by default so they can just click "Mute <name>" without needing to open the menu unless they want to give the non-option.
-----------------------------
The second idea: Convert the "mute <x>" option into a Notifications option with check boxes so we can independently choose what we want.
Right click user -> Notifications:
-> Mute (Darkens the following yet preserves them, Discord's current mute functionality)
-----
-> Sounds
-> File transfers
-> Pop-ups
-> Unread message indicator
==========================
The first option would be easier to implement. The second would grant greater flexibility.
