Show chat channel time stamp of last view, or add button to jump to last view (first unread message)

I've noticed that channels don't always show the messages you last viewed when you revisit them after the application has been stopped for a certain time. It sometimes shows there are 50 new messages since some arbitrary time (or multiples thereof once  you scroll up) But there is no link or way to find and jump to where you left the chat the other day/time. There is however a way to jump to now with the indication that there are new messages.

Can such a button be added to jump to the last viewed/ first unread message?

Which would then be shown in the middle of the chat screen allowing to continue where you left off.

And maybe add a time scale to the scollbar on the right of the chatchannel window so you can get an idea how far back in time you are looking. You can see the timestamp on the left of the message, but it is often impossible to find which date you are at in very active channels.
