Keeping Up With Chat: The New User Interface Kinda Sucks...

I've seen many heated arguments about the new user interface but thought I could try to add another perspective on why this update should change or be reverted.

Moderation with this update is almost impossible if you need to do work in another tab; let me explain. When working in a different tab the red colored "new" bar remains at the top, presumably to keep a placeholder for when you return, however any new messages get hidden below the screen - this is the most detrimental change. Previously, I could continue working while the chat stayed updated without issue. Now with this update, I have to repeatedly go back to the chat sometimes every minute; quite hard to get work done in that scenario...

Personal preferences:

Aside from the most glaring issue of the "stuck chat," I do have some issues with the visual style

- The thin separator line between member's messages made everything more concise. With the update it's honestly a struggle at time to distinguish member's to their messages, especially for quick glances and large messages

- The three most common reactions are not needed and really only clutter things up. I personally use more than just three emotes, so I need to access the full gambit of emotes anyways.

- Things seem to be blurrier in general, and I really cant tell if the text has changed or if it's because of the lacking visual barrier between messages. I had to increase the "Space Between Message Groups" to 24px just to get a minimal clarity again.

I hope that with all these feedback posts that a patch or a full relapse back to the older version could take place. I love using discord, but some serious changes need to take place for now...

It's worse than that! Now there is both no separator AND empty avatars/names allowed. That means someone may say something and the empty avatar follow that and it makes it look like the first person said everything (which is effectively a bug since it's totally disruptive to the visuals of the main purpose of the chat itself).

There was an official post on the discordapp subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/ezxouv/regarding_the_messages_redesign/) talking about and reasoning some of the changes.

In particular, and I'm very happy about this, the auto-scroll feature is back!
