Fix the recent UI changes

The whole chat UI has been made extremely ugly and isn't very user friendly.

Here's what I think is bad about this new UI design.

  • Background colour should only change when the element is interactive. Messages don't have a direct interaction.
  • Revert reactions, they look too squished.
  • Horrible margins, everywhere that has been changed; the old margins were fine and looked good.
  • The new quick reaction chooser is annoying and can't be disabled; I want to disable them.
  • The new quick reaction chooser is aligned to the middle of the top of the message. This is really annoying to look at. Please move it.
  • Mention highlighting should be reverted. It's ugly.
  • Timestamps to the left of the messages (like compact mode) are really horrible. If we wanted to know the timestamp, maybe put it in some other place, such as a menu.

Also, if something isn't broken, don't fix it.

    I agree with everything except the Names and Timestamps. I actually like being able to see the name for every message and knowing the exact time something was sent, but that's more of just personal preference.

    In regard to VoidTwo, I think that there could be three options for the time/date. Left, Right, or disabled.
    And for me the quick reaction is top right of the message for me so not too sure what you mean by top middle
    Otherwise I agree with everything else

    Personally the biggest thing that stuck out to me is it felt like the important menus got SMALLER to me and I'm using discord in 125% size. Also the gaps between seperate messages got bigger which is annoying for my writing style. EXTREMELY annoying because now any discord screencaps I take lose their comedy points because It's just too far apart.

    Please just revert these changes, or at least fix the horrible chat gaps/margins cause they look absolutely uncomfortable and extremely claustrophobic. This is the opposite of what I'd call "Cozy"

    Yeah, I dont know what they were thinking. There's no divider between the messages so it looks so bad. It's all melting together in a way, for me. It makes it harder to read.

    These timestamps in copy-paste are extremely annoying, if there was the possibility to turn it off I wouldn't be so upset about it but slowly discord is getting on my nerves with its updates more than windows, because you can at least disable the updates in win.


    Theyre plying with there users "We want to make anything better"

    When i was getting started with discord in 2017 mostly it was ok not perfect but ok and now there getting on a piont they dont fix problems anymore the make new unnessesary features and add bugs with it. 

    I am on a point, i want a open source fully customizable messenger app for linux windows ios and andriod that make Whatsapp ect. unneccesary.

    This thought is the result of irritating an user with updates until they repel the platform, the best example for this scenario is facebook.
    The most important thing is always no design changes and no unnecessary functions to add.
    Is it that difficult?

    It seems that they dont really care about the users :(
