An option for lines instead of spaces between message groups
I would really like the option to have lines again instead of spaces between message groups.
Love it or hate it, the new UI is here. Some of the changes really help (such as seeing exactly what you are mousing over!), other changes however seem backwards in terms of improving readability. One of such changes is the removal of lines between message groups. As someone with poor eyesight even with glasses, the lines were really useful to help differentiate messages. Although setting the space between message groups to 24px partially fixes the issue, it does not completely fix it because the spaces are the same color! The lines were a different color compared to the background, they also had the benefit of being across the entire chat area regardless of message length. This served as a really nice "bookmark" for my eyes. My eyes now just "float" to the next message group even with the spacing. I never realized how much I used these lines to keep track of conversations until they were taken away from me. Thus....
Please add the option to have lines against instead of spaces between message groups!

Please, please bring these back, or give us the option! If other people like having the dividers removed, I think it's great for them, but some of us really do miss the dividers. I think it would be great if it were a choice :)

Please give up the lines back, they were so helpful in separating messages. I do not like the new lack of lines at all. It makes it a pain in the ass to read anything on Discord, to the point I'm considering going back to Skype.

Please I depend on the lines a lot for visibility reasons.

This is crucial. I can live with everything else, but this will make me downgrade or mod my client. I can't live without these lines. They are absolutely crucial for me to read messages comfortably.

The highlighting messages might be annoying, but the no lines between stuff is really killing me.

Agreed, a toggle to switch between spaces and lines would be great.

Exactly! By removing the lines they broke the design principles of uniform connectedness / connected regions, and it makes readability much worse (especially in compact mode).
