This is an alright idea, but it's too complex and the interface for it would be quite quirky and out of place in an otherwise simplistic application. Also this would break the whole idea of Discord rendering messages in chronological order and would be a complicated change for not much of an advantage, and quite a small audience reach.

I feel the same as Big DoNut. I use Discord to run a D&D server, and while we run the game in the standard chronological chat and voice streaming channels, I have a dozen list-type channels for detailing the world, background, additional rules, etc. Some of these are getting fairly large, and editing to insert anywhere in the middle is getting prohibitively difficult.

I understand Discord's philosophy of sticking to "chat" channels in chronological order, but how about introduce a third channel type for (relatively) static lists? You wouldn't have to change or break any existing code, but that way server admins could get the best of both worlds.

You could set a reduced set of features within these (don't need reactions, emojis etc) and maybe increase certain limits (text entry size or attachment size would be nice) but constrain in other ways (number of entries? no bots or embeds?).
