Revert the UI changes. [With actual structured feedback]
The UI change was unnecessary and I don't really understand it. I'll begin with the new "new" indicator:

- Bold fully white text doesn't really work in Discord dark mode
- Full red line doesn't give the same message as a line with a cutout in the middle. Kind of annoying to have text on the opposite side of the screen, especially on my 2 Ultrawide monitors.
- "NEW" Isn't centered vertically, may just be an issue on my end but not quite sure.
- Defined shapes (Rounded rectangle, square, etc.) don't work on dark mode if colored in a vibrant color. Also the shape which holds the text is distracting as it is a color highlight.
Next, why the hovering over highlight should be reverted, as well as the reaction tab that pops up on the side.
https://gyazo.com/71f544007e960081e507d5431253f883 (Discord won't embed my GIF, click lick to see what I talk about here)
- Popout interferes with the "new" indicator, and if the indicator is removed, will still be popping out too far.
- I agree with the fact that they tried to change how we interact with messages as it felt too stale, but this is too extreme, no message or elements of a message should ever pop out of the message.
- The highlight is far too extreme and though I somewhat understand where discord is coming from with it, I personally don't like it, and would rather it be a toggleable feature.
And to finish; message group separators/date separators:

- Date separator font is slightly too fat (like really slightly, I actually kinda like this change)
- Date separator and "NEW" indicator are basically the same functionality, so they should look the same, another reason for "NEW" to be reverted.
- The lack of separators makes the large space between messages really awkward, they should be in the app at all times when not in Compact mode in my opinion.
EDIT: Just found the changes to the home tab, eh not really my thing but I can't complain about it without it being personnal opinion just yet, except maybe the colors being too dark on the 'Active Now' tab. Instead of
#202225 (Color of the top and side bar, as well as "Find or Start a Cconversation")

maybe you could use
#2F3136 (Color used in the buttons in the 'actual' Friends tab)

Thanks for reading, hope you consider me for a vote! :)

Completely agree with all the things you've pointed out here! Also, the "new" is misaligned on my discord too, but only by a very small fraction as I have mine zoomed out quite far. Just thought I'd point it out as it's not just an error on your device :)

I really hate the new things for the reactions, it take too much place and it's useless... Can we maybe have a parameter to hide this sh** ?

Sorry don't know how to reply to a comment if it is even possible... (God this website needs a UI overhaul of its own lmao)
Butyeah, Death Don, you can actually go to User Settings > Text & Images > Show emoji reactions on messages > disabled.
That's how I did it, nonetheless even the 3 dots for the settings are frustrating, you are correct.

The lack of padding between the last message and the text box is atrocious. My first impression is that Discord had rushed out this update with tunnel-vision on Reactions and without actually looking at the outcome of their work. I hope that if Discord wishes to introduces UI changes in the future, they will consult the community first, and leave some time for their UI to be reviewed. Otherwise, our love for Discord might be irreversibly damaged.

It's worse than that! I have a huge disruptive side effect for you which is effectively clearly a bug. Since now BOTH the separator is gone AND empty avatars/names are allowed one with an empty avatar can respond right after someone else and give the impression the same person said everything which is clearly disruptive to the main purpose of the chat itself.

I don't really mind any of those changes except for highlighting messages on hover. It's just way too extreme.

I hate the "new" red line, I would like an option to turn it completely off. I dont want this feature at all and I hate seeing it

I like the ability to see what message I'm hovering over easily...

That also hides reactions on messages.
The issue being only those three mouse-hovering emojis, that are extremely distracting.
