Silent mentions
Silent mentions would be useful in a few scenarios, especially concerning bots.
Assume you are talking about a person in the discord with someone else, to clarify who it is you can @ them but theres really no need to send a ping their way, so @ becomes a bit intrusive.
Lots of bots have some sort of stats lookup etc where you can !stats @user, this also clearly have no need to send a ping or an alert to the user.
I suggest adding silent @'s.

tags them and you can autocomplete, however it does not send a notice to the user.

Currently their is a workaround i think:
Just let the bot write any message first and edit it directly after.
I tested it with a friend and he didn't get an alert by this @jonaah0 -
I agree, this would be a very useful feature. I'm the kind of person who instinctively mentions people to indicate that I'm speaking to them, but a lot of people find that rude, so it would greatly help me if I had a way to indicate to the person that I'm talking to them (I.E. having the message highlighted like a mention would) without giving them a notification.
