Peer to Peer File Transfers

Now I was thinking of a great idea! Wouldn't be nice if there was Peer to Peer (P2P) file transfers as an optional file transfer? That would mean that large gigabyte-size files wouldn't be bound to file size limitations by the server itself. The only things needed is a request asking the user to accept the file that's going to be transferred, and after accepting the file transfer, the two users have to be online while the file is being transferred, once the file transfer is complete, the P2P connection will end. It would be very nice to see such feature to be used for everyone to use, it would be an optional feature alongside the "server upload" feature, so the user can choose between Server upload or Peer-to-peer. What does everyone think of this? Wouldn't it be amazing? That way it would save us the trouble of having to use file sharing websites which also impose limitations on OUR ability to upload stuff and requiring people to have to install torrent software or other P2P software.

Some would probably see that as a privacy/security hazard, as a lot of damage could be done by tracking private/home networks and a lot of people don't know that.
They could, alternatively, implement a server-based service, where it transfers to the server and the server transfers it to the other user, and they could limit the transfer rate based on the traffic. There are many services they could partner with made specifically for that purpose for quick transfer between contacts, rather than storing the file on an external storage service and sharing a link to the file(s), possibly having to swap info outside of Discord to establish a connection or share a file on a service where the creators' and/or viewers' accounts are listed anyway.

My Esports Organization uses discord for all work communications. Because there is no peer to peer transfer, we have to use other services to transfer files and they all have limitations. Being able to send files directly to someone would allow us to keep all work in the discord ecosystem
