New method of dealing with posts that go over the character limit is annoying
Mobile still doesn’t have a method of measuring character limits, and it’s still irritating-however, the previous method of letting someone know their post is over the limit was perfectively serviceable-it would just do the pop up, and leave the message in the chat for you to edit.
Now, discord is less than good at communicating when they do sneaky little changes, but today (as of writing this post) I noticed when you try and send a message that goes over the text limit, you get the pop up-but it sends the message anyway, but red (due to it not going through) and clyde popping it’s face up telling you oops! You can’t send the message.
Hey, discord? Why? Why would you do this? This is an incredibly minor thing, but why did you change it so it does this? There’s no palpable reason to do this-why try send the message when both me and you know it won’t work? It would be less egregious if there was some kind of indicator, so you could avoid this in the first place-but since there isn’t, there’s just this. Incredibly minor, but incredibly dumb feature? Discord desktop has an indicator, but mobile doesn’t, so.
