Support for Xbox Game Bar with a Discord Widget
With the release of Xbox Game Bar SDKs for developers to create custom widgets for it, I believe that Discord should release its own widget to complement or even, potentially, replace the built-in overlay for Windows even if it sounds silly and unlikely.
Currently, the Discord overlay is not the most viable solution. Most of the time, it just doesn't work even if the user attempts to use the shortcut designated for the overlay and with the overlay enabled for the opened game. For example, of all my current games including Halo MCC, Minecraft (both Bedrock and Java) and PC Building Simulator, only Team Fortress 2 manages to use the overlay.
As the Game Bar is built-in Windows 10 and is generally more reliable than the Discord overlay with additional features such as the ability to pin widgets and a more customization window-style UI, I suggest a Discord widget for the Game Bar.
It should have two main components: a window for all the chats in servers and DMs and another window for voice chat status if active. For notifications, I am not sure if Discord can effectively display incoming messages with the Game Bar, but a workaround would be essentially the use of the Windows 10 notification center with Discord set as an exception in Focus Assist.
