New formatting decreasing in quality every couple days.
Discord has been updating frequently for me recently, with the buttons changing in style and the interface changing bit by bit.
I now find myself unable to have my friend be full size, just showing them, and view the text chat at the same time. Instead, if I make the PM chat visible it splits the image between me and them, and I really dont need myself to be the same size as them, reducing the their size. This is incredibly annoying, and is really the last straw, just stop messing with the fictional formatting.
If a dev is having trouble understanding why this is an issue, its because the chat is useful for sending links, images and general use of the text format, maybe while one person has to mute themselves. While I'm using those functions I would like to have the person I'm chatting with take up as much space as possible, having it split evenly with my own image is more then useless but frustrating, it used to be optional, and while the option was nice, having it as the only option is terrible.
As an extra note, this removed the little bubble in the top corner previously used to see yourself and change which video (your friend or yourself) that you were viewing are now gone when someone is full sized, and those were nice. Before they were removed they were changed from squares to circles, and that was a bad change, but livable, this change is highly problematic for quality of life.

100% agree. The change has made video chat completely unusable for me. I'm now looking into alternatives as the experience has gone from the amazing to awful overnight.

Can't upvote posts about the new layout change enough. Glad I'm not the only one who despises this change
