Changes to the Mobile UI
I am literally considering uninstalling Discord from my phone entirely and being done with it. All the the recent changes made to the user interface and layout have been horrendous - they've taken something very simple, easy to use and aesthetically pleasing, and made it so compromising and hard to understand that I really believe that people who are new to the app won't have a clue what's going on – I've have it for two years and I'M lost as to what the hell I'm supposed to do. Hiding the ability to change your status in the settings menu is unbearable and makes it hard to quickly switch to invisible as need be, and the amount of repeat features is driving me up a wall. I preferred the simple swipe-out menus (where the chat channels WEREN'T the thing that moved, which literally just manages to give people headaches and is really disorienting to look at) where I could switch to invisible or immediately check my discord tag; having to hunt for five minutes to find the simple four digit code is literally infuriating, and all the little buttons on the bar at the bottom that were formerly neatly tucked away now take up an unnecessary amount of space. Swiping through DMs and GCs is a literal nightmare for me, and now in servers I can't check the panel to see who is active without the disorienting (and quite honestly kind of nauseating) image of the entire chat shifting over to the side. Having the panels swipe out was easier to access and much less distracting, and were a much better design choice. You took the main focus of Discord, the chats/channels and made it so that's the thing that we have to swipe out of the way - design-wise, it makes absolutely no sense, as with all of the abrupt massive changes that have been added with every update. Instead of fixing actual glitches or problems, constantly changing the interface the second people adjust to it make the app literally unusable, and it's chasing people off of the app. Please revert the changes as soon as possible.
Edit: Having the new bar at the bottom of the screen covering some of the channels when you swipe open the channel menu is really annoying. One of the reasons that having the panels swipe out was such a good feature was that it didn't look or feel awkward; but now it feels kind of stifling and overbearing, and seriously cluttered.

I hate the new mobile UI with a passion. It feels so slow and klunky as well as absolutely unnecessary. Discord for mobile was perfectly fine in the first place.

I believe these design changes are being implemented to account for the UI/interaction changes that have been found in recent Android and apple devices, because the way back/home/forward actions are made are difficult to use when interacting with applications that still utilize the materials design philosophy originally created by Google several years ago

If the design changes are in the case for newer devices, I really hope that they implement a way to change to the older version. There has to be a way to put a settling like that in so that those who really hate the UI can change it to the simpler design. This UI just feels overly complicated for no reason.

I agree wholeheartedly. I've gone and started a hashtag #NotMyPlaceToTalk that protests the v20.4 "Tabs" UI. Feel free to use the hashtag to put your two cents in and talk about your Discord app struggles. https://mobile.twitter.com/ItsSpelledHALEY/status/1278307838754844673
