Let us opt in and out of beta features, and WARN users when it happens
Recently a friend was forced into the new 'Inbox' feature of Discord, which he really didn't like. I on the other hand am in about 20 servers, and it would be amazing to have a single pane of glass to see all messages coming in.
My point here, is that the Dev team is randomly peppering new features out to random users on an account level, whereas I'm in the Canary build, a HypeSquad member, and I get features AFTER a person using the stable release client, and they can't change their interface back -- whereas I teach everyone around me how to use Discord, and now I can't opt in to the changes.
I'm an IT professional by trade, and during COVID lockdowns, I'm teaching clients how to stay connected with family, friends, and their adult kids. That means teaching non-technical adults how to use discord.
If I can't see what's coming down the line, I can't help people, and when I say click the '@' at the top right, and they keep repeating they only see an inbox, we all get frustrated. Being on Canary is supposed to give us an opt-in to give you feedback, and random users shouldn't be subjected to your latest idea without a opt-out, or at least a warning that what they see is an experimental alpha feature not widely available.
Also if any dev reading this *can* give out the inbox feature, I'd appreciate it.
