highlight pinned messages

Highlight pinned messages in the channel (different background color, small text saying that it is pinned?).

Maybe a visual indicator on the icon that there are (new) pinned messages since last visit?

Currently pinning is useless since there is no visual indication that there even are any pinned messages. I don't understand how this feature was designed. Are we supposed to click on the pin icon every time we enter a channel to check if there's any pinned messages, or any new ones?
