DiscoChat (Discord's New Way of Expression)
Ok, so basically this idea is a modern reinvention of the beloved 2004 PictoChat that us 2000's kids grew up with and loved on our old DS's. I was thinking to myself, "Man, emotes are cool. What if we could go further and express ourselves with our own doodles quickly without bringing up a secondary program to make and bring them over from..." and there it was.
DiscoChat.
Now, I'm not a lawyer and have no idea if this is copyright infringement, but I thought this was a stellar idea. I did a little bit of looking to see if there were any modern renditions of PictoChat and couldn't find any standalone services or websites that had the same idea. If there's integrations like this in other programs today, I have no idea. But if Discord had this, meme'n (and self expression) in chat could level up to a whole new tier with original illustrations. Just imagine the fun ways it could be utilized.
On the other hand, it could also have practical implements. Maybe making quick diagrams for a project you are working on with people in the chat, or helping visualize something (to be explored further).
In all, I can understand how this could be difficult to implement. I know basically nothing when it comes to programming a mini-MS Paint into your chatting program, and I can understand if it's too much of a hassle to do. Even if it's only as capable as the old PictoChat was with enough to draw out words and small doodles would satisfy my nostalgia, and I'm sure many others' as well.
Thanks for reading! (Hope it was comprehensible :)
