An easier way to delete Direct Message history

We all make mistakes. We all say things that we probably wish we didn't.

I understand that a way to remove private message history could be abused by people who would then have an easier time of getting away with saying stuff that could potentially cause emotional harm to others. Despite this, I believe far more damage can be done with someone having data from private messages that they could use maliciously, which the victim could have sent unknowingly, by mistake or just simply while not thinking straight.

With Discord being marketed towards teenagers, young adults and the like, I believe mistakes like this are more likely, and these people should be able to feel safe on their platform with an easy way to erase a photo, a sentence, or even a conversation across multiple days that they regret pressing send on. Many lives are ruined each year on social media because of events like this. Even some have been taken because the victim couldn't live with the stress, or the embarrassment. I would hate for this kind of thing to take place on Discord, as I am aware of the amazing community, staff and supporters that make Discord what it is today.
