Feature Request: create permissions to migrate channel messages into a thread

This would be a permission that allows a moderator, or the poster, to migrate a post from the main channel into a thread they have joined (automatically appearing in chronological order, when added).

 

So if you find yourself five posts deep in a conversation and decide it should be a thread, you can easily make that happen.

 

This makes curating threads a lot easier and cleaner. Boosts server experience.

  I came here to request the exact same thing! I think it would also be good if mods could move things from a thread back to the parent channel - being able to move things in and out would let us keep conversations organized and make sure important stuff doesn't stay hidden in a thread.

  Just had a huge, 200+ message convo absolutely cover our general channel and would love to be able to just select that block of messages and send it to a thread.

  It would be great to have ability to start a thread by selecting multiple messages which then will be moved into created thread. Isn't it? This seems good for moderation when you need to clear the space and want to force people to discuss things separately and effective.
