Feature creep reduces chat usability, particularly for small screen sizes on Desktop
Discord has been consistently adding features to the standard post options, many of them beneficial, but their icons are now clogging the text input box. This is most pronounced when using discord on a half monitor or other small screen formats.

As you can see, the upgrade/gif/sticker/emoji options take up half the chat box, doubling the number of lines to display the message. There are many ways to resolve this, the simplest of which would be to use the same input style as for mobile, where the team has already solved this problem handily.

I would love to see this streamlined text input used for mobile ported to discord!
This is a simple solution to the problem presented in this previous post:

This would be nice! Especially since, because I don't have Nitro, the sticker button is useless to me, and the sticker and gif buttons are tabs in the emoji popup window already. The gift option is also quite useless for everyday use for most users as well. I can't use a second monitor with my current laptop, so I often have to use Discord in a minimized window, and with the active user list open, the text input box can be practically unusable.

maybe I'm too old but i just don't see the difference between gifs and stickers or why they're separate buttons

mobile-like view for website coded under e.g. @media screen and (max-width:15cm){} and @media screen and (max-height:15cm){} in the website would solve some smaller screens outlay problems in the browser — many browsers also allow units like vw, vh, vmin, vmax (percentage value of the viewport width, height, smaller edge, longer edge) — so it can be added as a line following a backup setting for browsers that don't support this feature?
