Default Gallery not recognised by the application all of the sudden.

Good afternoon.

I've sent Discord support an email regarding this a month or two ago and the problem still persists in an unbearable way.

Whenever I select the media selector on my Discord mobile and click on the tiny top left square to expand my gallery, I get the usual message of: "Complete action using" and I get presented with options to choose from.

I used to have the options to select between my phone's gallery applications (including Google Photos) and its native file explorer (which is horrible to navigate through), but for some reason, out of absolutely nowhere all my options disappeared, leaving only the native file explorer to choose from.

I've already did everything I could to fix the problem myself, from reinstalling Discord, clearing my data, changing with the default application settings, everything you could imagine I tried, but the issue was never fixed.

My phone model is a Zenfone Max Pro M1, manufactured by ASUS with an Android OS. Its Android version has been updated and currently its at Android 9 (ASUS dropped its plans to upgrade Zenfones to Android 10).

My phone is free of any Malware and the gallery applications I have are trustworthy and reliable, given they used to be available as an option in the media selector before disappearing completely.

This has been an issue for months, and there have been others that are suffering from this same problem. A fix the next update would be highly appreciated as someone who pays for Discord services.

yeah, i have this problem too. i posted about it some time back and it's still getting comments. i sent a bug report in and they said they're aware of the bug, but that was months ago :/

they have specifically said that this is "intended behaviour" which is just stupid
