Voice messages / Voice notes

It's literally been 3 years since the original post.

This feature would be extremely helpful for some people, and plus every other messaging app has it at some point. (e.g. Instagram or Facebook Messenger). I don't know why you all haven't added this yet, since there's other posts suggesting this feature as well and many other people who'd appreciate and use this feature if it were to get added. But it's been held back / ignored / etc for a while now, so I'll be suggesting this again to remind, in hopes for an actual answer/response instead of a link leading me to the original post.

Some people don't have time to jump straight into a voice call to say a few sentences. And even if they do, the other person might not be able to join call either.
Another example taken from a similar post suggesting this feature is that you could be in-game and recording a voice note could take much quicker than typing a message.
Or if you're in voice call with other people, you don't have to jump into another short voice call to use your voice with another person.
Plus, it's generally a pretty useful feature for when you're in a rush and unable to record on another app and go back to send it as an actual file. It'd be better and more comfortable to be an official feature, imo.

So voice notes could help a lot in some cases. Plus it'd enhance the chatting experience a lot, in my eyes.
+ Discord is also based on voice chatting and etc. So this feature would be a great add.
