GIF Folder In-Depth Suggestion
After scrolling through suggestions it seems I am not the only one who has thought of GIF folders as a possible discord feature. Currently the only way to save discord gifs is to favorite them, I think with a GIF folder system being implemented not only could we have better GIF organization but also a new way to save GIFs to accompany this.
First I think it would be nice to have a new option that pops down when hovering over GIFs. This would function as a "save gif" button. This would appear either next to or below the "favorite" button and it could be a small box that looks like a package. Now as opposed to this gif being automatically sent into your favorites it could be added into a new tab called "stored GIFs." This tab would act very similarly to the favorite GIFs tab where the GIFs would just be displayed in order of most recently added.
This would by default be a nice feature, as I personally have a lot of random GIFs for specific circumstances saved in my favorites, however with a separate "stored" vs "favorites" tab I could keep all my commonly used GIFs in "favorites" while my other random ones could be kept in "stored GIFs".
A quick idea that would nicely compliment all of this is the ability to drag your GIFs around your tabs so they could be organized better. Obviously folders would also accomplish this but even with folders you might want to have specific GIFs show at the top of the folder as opposed to the bottom.
For the main event I bring you folders. The concept is pretty simple at first glance, just like the other tabs in the GIFs section you could create a new tab that you can name, this would be the folder. The button could fit pretty nicely in the current UI, just put it a bit before the search bar like so:

(I am no graphic design wizard so this is the best I could do)
Upon creating and naming a new folder you can now put GIFs into said folders. This can be done one of two ways:
1. adding an additional dropdown when hovering over GIFs that allows you to either save a new gif and put it into a folder or take an already saved GIF and put it into a folder. Upon clicking this button the GIF UI will pop up and show only your folders, not the saved gifs tab and not the miscellaneous GIF tabs, however favorites could be included. The user would click on the folder they want to add the GIF to and bam its in there. Just like how it would when normally favoriting a GIF.
2. This works the opposite way in comparison to option #1. When in the GIF folder you want to add a GIF to, you click a new button (which could just look like a +) and it will open your saved GIFs tab. You now can choose whichever GIF you want from your stored GIFs and add it to the folder.
Either method works and if this were to be added you could only have one of the options available and it would still work as normal. Though having both options allows users to add the GIFs in whichever way they find most convenient.
Removing GIFs and Folders would work relatively simply, when clicking the create folder button a dropdown could appear which gives the option to add or delete a folder, clicking delete would just allowed you to click on the desired folder and poof its gone. All the GIFs would still be nicely secure in your saved GIFs tab. Removing GIFs from folders could simply work by adding an X option that appears when hovering over a GIF in a folder, this would not remove the GIF from your saved GIFs but just remove it from the folder.
I think I covered most of the bases here, the only thing I think I did not mention that would be nice is the ability to drag folders around and organize them just like you can with the GIFs. If this feature were implemented I would for sure have around 10 different folders so being able to organize them would be cool. Anyway, that is my GIF folder proposal, most if not all bases as to how this could work were covered, and I'm sure anything that wasn't covered would be no problem for the devs themselves to think up a solution for. Thank you for reading!
