Impactful Glitch in Registration Process...
So I signed up for Discord using my phone number. After being verified, the system accepted the email address I submitted as being true. It was not. I accidentally used a variation of a similar username used in another email account. This new email account that I mistakenly thought I had, was nonexistent. Since no verification was required to ascertain the validity of the existence of this email account, it was registered and accepted without any additional checks or requirements on my part. When I couldn't remember my password and tried to retrieve it, since the email account never existed, I never got an email to help retrieve my password. Obviously, this needs to be fixed immediately. But in addition, there should have been an
optional retrieval verification method that verified my identity through my phone. The same method that was used to verify my identity when signing up.
