Voice channel bat-call
Problem.
I want my friends to come to a voice channel, and I'm sitting there waiting all by myself.
I could mention my friends in a text-channel, text them separately (maybe through some other media), or call them on discord. But I don't want to mention them in the server, because I don't want to bother the entire server. I also don't want to be creating separate text-channels for specific groups of people, and I don't want to text them seperately. I want specific people to hear my calling to this voice channel so that I can assemble my league of gamers.
Solution.
I can't believe I'm giving this one away for free.
A bat-call.
On mobile, it would just give my friends a notification, and perhaps give you a couple of snoozes.
On desktop. I want my friends drawn into the voice channel. Perhaps they get a notification. The voice channel icon lights up and makes some ping sounds and animations if discord is open.
Importantly, I can select which friends receive this bat-call. By right-clicking the voice-channel and creating a bat-call. It's okay for the voice-channel to be accessible by other server-members, but I do not want to summon them.
These can of course be muted and silenced like any other notifications / messages, and could be an opt-in feature. But when servers grow beyond your inner circle, this would be a very convenient feature. Currently, we communicate over other messaging apps to sync, but I think there is a good opportunity to make this communication more built-in to discord.
