Feature Request: Opt-In Shared Message Editing
Most servers maintain rules, FAQs, guides, and other community content that needs to be updated regularly. Doing so is often very frustrating, because currently, only the original author of a message can edit it.
I propose that whenever someone creates a message, there should be a way for them (the original author) to allow other users to edit it. I call this feature "shared editing". The UX could be as simple as a switch that's presented when composing a message ("Allow others to edit this message"), or a context menu entry that's available afterward ("Manage Editors").
To prevent abuse, shared editing should be per-message, it should be opt-in, and only the original author should be allowed to change its settings. The author should also be given granular control over who is allowed to edit their message - self only, specific users, roles, everyone, etc.
This feature would greatly reduce the friction felt by most server maintainers. Its utility would be immediate and widespread. Please upvote this proposal to maximize its chances of being considered.
