Pixelated Video

I'm using an android smartphone to use the discord app and my friend is using windows and a webcam and discord on a browser. Well, his camera is very pixelated and awful,  what is causing this and is there any way to fix it?  On Chrome and every browser his picture is terrible except for Firefox but on firefox my mobile video flips for him and won't stay in portrait mode, so everything is sideways. Does anyone have any idea what's causing all of this and please help?
