Hide blocked users’ online status and make their messages invisible

On any platform that fosters relationships between people, there needs to be functionality to go no contact. That’s just the nature of human contact. 

In my case, someone I met on discord, who I ended up caring about deeply, abandoned me and manipulated me. I have blocked  this person and cut them out of my life to the greatest extent possible, but I’m still in a couple of the same servers as them. And it sticks the knife in the wound to see their online status constantly on the sidebar with no way of hiding it.

Why is blocking implemented this way? If you block someone, its because you don’t want to think about them anymore. I blocked this person for my own mental health, and involuntarily spotting this person’s online status and “1 blocked message” is actively detrimental to it. It is baffling that this feature is so halfheartedly implemented.
