Specific Loss of Sound
I'm discovered a very specific set of circumstances which cause users not to be able to hear me anymore.
I play D&D through a discord server and we play with mics and cameras on. I am also a smoker, but do not smoke in my house. When I need to go out I connect to the voice channel on my phone, and then click back in to the desktop client when I'm done. Never had any issues at all with this in the past.
We had three new players join one of my games a few weeks back. As usual, about an hour in, I swapped to the mobile client and went out, and then came back on the desktop client a few minutes later. All three new players suddenly couldn't hear me anymore. They worked out that if they disconnected from and reconnected to the channel, the sound would come back.
We've finally realised that the three new players are unique in all the people I play with – all three happen to log on through the web client. I can only assume that since these three players are the only ones that I have ever had this issue with, there is some bug in the web client causing this problem when another user switches clients.
We obviously can work around this, but would be great if switching clients wasn't buggy!
