Enable ‘Show All Channels’ on server by default

We’re having major issues with our users and the channels they’re available to see.

We have new users sign up through onboarding, and they’re not able to see the full list of channels on our server.

Discord support say this is actually intended behaviour, and for some ridiculous reason, they expect users to go searching for channels to add instead.

Eg. A new user joins the server, and we assign them the ‘Member’ role. They should then automatically have all ‘Member’ private channels added to their list of channels right? Wrong. Instead they will have some of these show up in ‘Suggested’ channels, some will just be hidden, and then they’ll still have to go in to the specific channels to add them to their list.

I’m really struggling to see how this intended setup makes any sense at all. It’s killing our engagement as members sign up and think there’s only 5 random channels available.

Please fix this so users automatically have ALL channels visible to them in the channel list, and especially ALL channels for their specific user roles.

If we’re paying hundreds of dollars a year to have boosted servers, the above setup is completely incomprehensible.

This should be the other way around, where all available channels are enabled by default, and users can hide them if they wish.

    This has to be fixed. It is killing engagement of a new server. Especially for a server where people are signing up who have never used Discord before. Please switch the default to “Show All Channels" and then if people want to mute or hide any channels, then they can take that step to do so.

    It's wild legally.autistic — any response I've had from Discord support has basically just been to say “It's working as intended” and that's it. I feel like there'd be many more people complaining about this if they were aware, but many users and admins won't know about the issue (e.g. admins just think users aren't engaged with a certain channel, but users don't know that it exists in the first place).

    The most ridiculous thing that Discord incorporated. I have to instruct my members individually to Enable All channels because they can't see majority of the server. 

    I hope they will change that soon
