Don't default the custom status to "Chilling tbh" when joining a voice channel
I am not always “Chilling” when I join a voice channel. I don't want that status to be set, I did not ask for it, and I did not choose it. Having the option to set it is fine, but it should default to no status, not to a random one that clutters up the call UI even more. I think it's a neat gimmick, and I will likely use it from time to time, but please don't force us to use features like this. They should only ever be opt-in, not opt-out.

Name one other service that forcefully changes your status everytime you join a channel… I’ll wait.
I can deal with the feature, if it doesn’t constantly change my status from what I’ve set it to or readd a status when I’ve cleared it. I’m assuming discord has no ux team, but if you do in fact have a ux team it’s probably worth firing them and finding a new one.
Also, what the previous person said about being impossible to login to this site… yeah I linked this article to like 10 people and no one succeeded at signing in. Fix your service and stop adding useless features that no one asked for, there are plenty of actual good ux improvements to be made to your software and yet you release trash like this time and time again.4 -
It makes me very uncomfortable for a status to be set for me automatically, and extremely uncomfortable that it shows this status to everyone online, regardless of whether or not I share a server with them. I do not want other people to know what I'm doing at any given moment unless I actively choose to show it. It should not automatically set a status upon joining a channel. Let people set their own status if they want to, do not set it for them.

Pirca Chupi, thankfully it can only be seen by friends who also have access to the channel you’re in. Still annoying tho.

What genius developer or product manager… thought putting a custom status on the right-side everyone's names is a genius idea? I struggle to watch a stream now as every time I mouse over it, the pop-out for watching a stream depops every time.

What part of “this is stupid clutter, stop adding clutter”, did you not understand? You already have how many status indicators? Seriously, whoever's baby this is, they don't have good ideas. Listen to somebody else for a bit.

Please remove this feature, or make it optional, or at least remember the last status : especially when set to ‘none’, logging back everybody and seeing this again is nerve racking. it's a plague.

Please provide a way to disable this feature for an entire server. My gaming/friend group is composed entirely of adults who detest this stuff.
Things like this should never be implemented without a way to disable them.
Please deal with this immediately. There is really no excuse to delay or drag feet on this. It's fine for servers that want it enabled, but who TF thought it would be a good idea to add without the ability to disable?

It is infuriating that it doesn't save your status, it always resets to "Chilling tbh." I don't mind having to clear it out once (although that shouldn't happen either from a UX perspective, but I'll play along) but I have to turn it off every time I join a voice channel is insane.

TLDR; Youre listening to what the whales want and not what your community wants. remember who keeps your lights on. the little fishes not the whales. the whales move with the fishes. If you only feed your whales, your fishes will find somewhere else to swim. and you betchya the whales will follow.
PLEASE, do i have to get on my knees? im begging you. get rid of this feature. having to disable it every single day is so absurd. same with the recent activity in the members list on the right side of the server who cares??????? i didnt ask for that. Just stop adding features you think would be cool and actually take a second and read through your community suggestions. Really it was hard to sign in on that website. It's a lot more than 90 people who are against it. One of ways of joining watching stream is completely unusable due to that status thing.

This is very poor design and completely unnecessary too.
- Nobody needs this and it does not provide any kind of functionality or improvement in any aspect of discord experience.
- It gets applied automatically either you want it or not. No way to disable it.
- If you want to disable it every time you have to click twice!
- It's ugly the least and add visual clutter.
- Once you do the mistake to add a custom one, guess what, you cannot remove it! What a bad design there.
Can we have useful things and remove this super bad idea once and for all please?

You’re right. Forcing a default status like Chilling tbh when joining a voice channel is annoying. It’s better if the default is no status. Users should choose if they want to set a status, not have one automatically applied. This feature should be opt-in, not opt-out. It keeps the UI clean and respects user preference.

I hate this feature so much that I turned off “Share your detected activities with others” under Activity Privacy. Please get rid of this, I do not want it to be broadcast that I'm “Chilling” or anything else in voice chat. I also hate that it takes up space on the webcam feed. It is absolutely unnecessary and needs to go.
There is a line between wanting to share that I'm playing a game, and broadcasting to people outside of a server that I'm in voice chat.0 -

It is almost a month later and I still hate this feature, and every time that a new day begins and I hop into voice chat I am smacked in the face with this terrible decision. Remove it or add a toggle already, I am never going to use this. You cannot and will not wear me down.

Simply losing Nitro isn't going to incite change. Discord as a corporation will continue to ignore our demands until a large movement of people delete their accounts and go elsewhere. Social media corporations put a growing userbase over all else, because with a larger userbase, naturally more people will be paying them, and more investors will put money into the company.
