My UI issues (Desktop) and wishlist to fix them
I don't use the mobile version. I would rather not use the Desktop version because the UI is so difficult to navigate, but it's a de-facto requirement in gaming these days. Here are problems I have:
1) I can't have different PTT settings for different servers, so I have to go to settings instead of having an easy option directly in the UI to enable/disable PTT
2) Within the settings, the actual app settings are way down the list after all the account and billing settings. This is very poor organization, because those are the kinds of things that are used least frequently and could very well be in an entirely different menu option.
3) The headers for each section within the settings are actually smaller and harder to see than the items within them. Make them a color that stands out. Make them larger, and indent the choices below them.
4) No volume controls in-app. I have to go to settings to adjust microphone volume or speaker volume or change audio devices. These are the things I have to do MOST OFTEN within the app, and that's exactly the kind of thing you should prioritize making available without searching through an onerous list of options to find.
5) The app is CONSTANTLY making notification sounds when I'm in another program, and I can't find a way to prioritize just the things that are important to me. There are notification settings on each server, but I can't seem to find something that lets me silence all but direct messages app-wide.
6) When I click on a channel with many new messages, the most recent is not displayed first, and there's no quick jump to bottom option, so I have to scroll through potentially months of out of date messages to see the new/relevant content.

1) Not massively sure on PTT stuff, as I don't use Discord much for voice communication…
2) I do agree the organisation is pretty rough, i.e. Nitro being above literally everything…
5) You can turn off notification settings globally in your user settings.
6) Every platform I've seen has a quick jump to bottom, like an upside down chevron (i.e. a V) in a circle, or “jump to most recent messages” button on mobile.
