Suggestion to change how blocked users appear
Hello,
I've been in touch with support team on X / Twitter and they redirected me here.
I was wondering if we could reconsider the way we block someone? Let's say I block a person on Discord, I'm assuming I won't be hearing from them ever again. But what is happening now is that you still get notifications when they post in a chan you haven't mute and instead of seeing what they say you'll get “x blocked message(s)”.
Since I blocked this person, I don't care if they post anything right? I don't want notifications, I don't want to see how many messages have been blocked. And it's even worse if this person is super active (and by that I mean “flood every chan with dozen of links to articles, twitter posts & videos”). If no one talks in between their message you'll get a wall of “x blocked message(s)” you can check what I mean on my Twitter post to the support team.
So my idea here is to remove all of this if you block someone, no more notifications, no more “blocked messages”. update : a friend suggest that it would be better if it was an option to activate : “block all” and you won't see anything nor have notifications, “mask user” would be the actual way we see the blocked user, you'd still get notifications and be able to click on blocked messages to read them.
I feel it would be a great update and most importantly, a huge mental relief not to see chat activities from someone you don't want to have contact with.
