@role not mentionable - we need more options please

This is a very old issue, posted around the internet since years, but it seems it never got solved, so here I am.

If you want to @mention a role it often happens that you can´t because the only thing discord shows you are some members with that role, but not the role itself. If I still write it and hit enter it chooses some random person of that list.

We need a button in that popup window to choose between role and member, and/or a bigger list where we can scroll through.
At the moment the only solution I found for this is to go inty my admin channel where no other members have permission, mention the role and there it is. After I put it in I copy paste it into the other channel where I actually want to have it.

This is very frustrating.
What is quite interesting, on the phone app it seems to work, it always shows me a few users and a few roles when I start to type in “@”, but not on PC.
