Option to revert to old UI design - new one is very weirdly spaced
So, I just got the new UI design, which in all honesty is absolutely awful in terms of spacing as it makes the use of certain accessibility apps harder/weirder due to the new mis-matched elements.

I've put the complaint and my suggested solution to fix it.
- The centered top text on makes it so much like, Slack and makes Discord lose it's flair - it also makes no sense to have server name visible twice on the top (top left corner next to Discord button, middle of the bar) | Suggestion: Make Discord more like how it was in the past, where the the Dicord logo is visible on the top right corner but if it's truly needed then have the server name in the middle. This does heavily also tie into…
- … The top bar doesn't blend anymore nicely on top with the rest of the UI and feels like it stands out | Suggestion: make the top bar slimmer, as it was in before.
- The weird “floating” username in the bottom of the screen doesn't fit at all with the design previously had and makes it stand out too much which makes it hard to use certain accessibility tools (as it thinks it's a pop up). | Suggestion: Integrate the username and settings/mute buttons more into the app, to make it less stand-out ish.
- . The icons being square is confusing because in the old system, they were square only when you pressed on them. Will cause confusion. | Suggestion: revert to the old system where icons were circle, but when you press on them they become this semi-square. This is also combined with…
- … The new server icons being way too tiny. They were a lot larger previously when circle and spacing was nicer. | Suggestion: give an option to scale the server icons or make them larger. I tried the spacing accessibility tools but it made no difference, the icons are still very tiny in comparison to how they used to be.
- Spacing in the chat just feels very off. too. It's like I'm zoomed in even with the settings on default. 15px feels too small but 16px feels way too zoomed in. The custom role emojis are very large as well, while the category text has way too tiny of a font compared to the channel name font size. | Suggestion: Improve scaling somehow, I have no idea which scaling would be perfect but the old one was good. Make the custom role emojis a tiny bit tinier, but make the channel font size smaller than the channel category.
- The dark modes are weird. I appreciate more options, but the recommended defaults are either a bit too light than what it was previously, or way too dark. | Suggestion: Make a color scheme 1000% focused on the old dark mode colors. Or give the option to customize each single element - basically *everything* yourself.
- Weird black box background in server groups.
| Suggestion: Make it more transparent when not hovered over.
- The text bar where you type in the UI is a bit too large spacing-wise and the “Now typing” text below it feels a bit too tiny. The icons in the text box also feels a bit too tiny in contrast. | Suggestion: Improve scaling to make it more reasonable, where the box is maybe a few pixels smaller but the now typing text is a size or two bigger. The emoji text box is fine, but also make the box a bit smaller there. If made smaller, the icons do not need to be made larger.
- The highlight when you ping is way too close in color to the background and it's very easy to miss, even with several accessibility settings turned on, especially in “Ash” color scheme. I put it here as an example, against a white background, to see how hard it is to differentiate:
| Suggestion: Make the contrast stronger. A ping is meant to be seen.
- The direct messages icon is also way too small compared to how it used to be | Suggestion: Make it larger again. Keep it as circle. But make it larger.
- “Find or Start a conversation” button on top of the Direct messages is distracting. | Suggestion: Make it a search bar, with a search icon, with transparent/faint text that says this to be less distracting. Basically revert it to how it was.
I may add more if I have time later, but basically the biggest problem is the very, very weird scaling in this which fucks up some outside accessibility software and muscle memory, and as the accessibility settings don't fix or change this enough, I figured I'd leave this here.
Thanks in advance.
