Issues with New UI – Hard to See and Use
Hey Discord Team,
Thanks for all the work on the new Desktop Refresh UI! I know most users have it now (including me). I just wanted to point out some things that are making it harder to use, especially for people who have trouble seeing or reading:
-
Message Box Problems
- The message box is too tall and doesn’t line up right with the user box.
- Padding inside the box is uneven, making it look messy.
- When scrolling up, the message box sometimes overlaps the text.
-
Scaling Issues
- Zooming in or out with
<Ctrl> + <->
or<Ctrl> + <+>
doesn’t change the size of the member list or server list. - Server icons are smaller now, which makes them harder to see.
- Zooming in or out with
-
Folder and UI Clutter
- Server folders feel cramped, like everything is packed too tight.
- The server name at the top of the window isn’t really needed and adds extra clutter.
-
Confusing Settings
- Some settings work backwards now — you have to turn them off to actually disable them.
-
Timestamps and Poor Contrast
- You have to hover over timestamps to see the full time, which takes extra effort.
- Text contrast is low, making it harder to read, especially when scaling doesn’t work right.
These things are making it harder for a lot of people to use the new UI comfortably. Hopefully, these can be fixed soon. Thanks for listening! 😊
