Whiteboard Integration

I think it would be nice if Discord had some kind of drawing board for sharing quick ideas that are less understandable through words, like telling your friend how you outplayed someone in League if you forgot to record it, or planning your strategy in CSGO, or just to draw pictures for fun. This would be very helpfel to Tactical gamers. Imagine you're planning your strategy on that board with the map as background image, and during the operation you can press a key to make it appear in the overlay. Ideally, you can also ping the enemies' last know location or draw the route you're goin to take. There in fact some live whiteboard sites but I'm not sure if they can work on phones and PCs at the same time, plus keeping a browser open like Chrome just for the whiteboard may affect performance.     It takes me back to the Pictochat days, and would be a fun addition to Discord, however it's included

    Google Hangouts had this feature. it was just simple drawing with a mouse. we used it constantly as a group

    We are debating moving our teams to discord from slack. A whiteboard integration for software engineering teams would be the nail in the slacks coffin.

    Or, even better: a whiteboard/drawing layer on top of video, screenshare or whatever.

    I think this would also work great being added to the current video streaming feature.

    • Turn on video streaming into your voice chat room.
    • Switch your camera feed to “Whiteboard”
    • Then draw out your plan or strategy on screen Madden style. Optionally allow an image background for your whiteboard (like a battle arena from an MMO fight) to draw on top of to describe positioning and strategy.

    Even better, if I can hop on a tablet like my iPad Pro, I can enable this option and use my pencil on my tablet to draw out on a whiteboard stream.

    Hey @Neztore 

    Was chatting with my friend, trying to explain how I moved things around in my computer. Intuitively checked to see if discord had a drawing app integrated. 

    Also I use discord to speak with my employees during weekly training's, and have had to share screen and use other apps to explain certain ideas. 

     

    Works even better with voice.

    Very interested in this idea - google used to have a picture drawing tool in their hangout chat, however it was removed about 9 mos ago and I have been missing it ever since.  I recently read they will not be bringing it back, but I'm hoping another software like discord will pick up where google dropped the ball.

    I was going to make a whole additional post, but I’ll just add to this thread:
    Integrating “presentations” with hyperlinkable imagery, the way Google Slides allows teachers to create a “virtual classroom” that students can click around for different materials. It would be slightly more visually engaging than a simple Text message with included links. Think classic YouTube with those link overlay boxes for “Next video” or “Check this out”
