Definitely. This implementation could probably still allow people with manage message permissions to bypass it, but having a specific permission would be amazing as well.

This would be very helpful, in the situations of where you have helpers or certain roles that you wish aren't caught in the slowmode but they aren't due to the Manage_Channel permissions and Manage_Message permission has to be enabled for that role. Though of course you're not wanting to give those permissions to said roles.

This would be helpful for Large servers, such as case in my situation. Official Fortnite, would benefit well in this for certain roles that we have. As well as my other servers I moderate from, would come into handy with allowing roles have slowmode bypass by a single permission rather than having it tied together to the other current permissions.

    Absolutely necessary in big servers.

Or have it one of the edits for general permissions per each role.

Especially useful for servers where someone is answering questions.

This would be exceptionally useful in really busy servers, like when a new game is released!

Seconded.  There are some users I encounter that don't deserve an outright ban, but I wish I could slap slow mode onto a role and dish that out to folks who clearly need to slow down and stop barging in to derail ongoing conversations with something completely unrelated.  I don't want to do it to everybody, but I could definitely come to appreciate being able to do it to somebody.

As long as this was just for specific channels/categories OR it didn't allow a user to bypass permissions they shouldn't have, I'd be interested in seeing this one.

    That would be pretty useful.

+ 1, this would be really helpful in servers where you don't trust people enough for one of the special permissions.

    Upvote.

I get this is mostly just relevant for large servers. But come on Discord. You've grown into being a platform for large servers mainly.
Just look at all your official servers with many unique and different mod team systems.

Having this would allow for roles that don't require or should given access to manage_messages but need a slow mode immunity.

I def want the ability to control how slow mode affects different roles. Unless it's changed since I last looked at it, if I turn slow mode on in a channel, the only way to opt a role out of it is give them the manage messages permission. I have people I trust enough not to enforce slow mode on, but I don't want to also give them manage messages permission.

For example? I have a small server. My @everyone permissions are pretty restrictive because I'm listed in a directory and put a permanent invite link on our website and twitter in an effort to gain more members... but I don't want to get raided. I would love to be able to put at least a little bit of a slow mode delay on that role, but I have a role that unlocks basic features like off-server emoji, changing nick, url preview, etc that I give once someone has talked enough to show us they're not here to raid us, and I would like to be able to turn slow mode off for those people.

+1 Large servers with big staff, and not only moderators in it, still want to allow the rest of the staff to bypass the slowmode !

"just need to give the role. Manage messages"

Ah, sure, let me give the permission to manage messages to a random role on my server, what could possibly go wrong?

This could be amazing for shutting down new user server spam

    A necessary thing, IMHO.

You could put @everyone under slow mode and add a role that has more permissions after 10-20 messages or so. Would make moderating brand new users much, much easier.

This would actually be a really helpful feature, it's not desirable to have no way to not be affected by slowmode except if you actually are able to manage the channel itself. This would be a lot better to have if we want to have certain users unaffected by the slowmode, yet not have mod level perms.

Yea +1, I do find this already necessary for all the reasons specified above. Meanwhile this thing could be a global permission for a role, I still think and hope it would be a channel specific as well, if it gets implemented.

I defo need it, my server has a "ON THIN ICE" role and it'd be nice to give them a 20 min cooldown, so they can only make the occasional suggestion and not overwhelm the convos.

I'd love this! In a server I moderate for, it's relatively small, but we have a couple of members that just can't resist
    Sending Messages
    Like this
    Rather
    Than
Sending it in one post, so it'd be super useful to help them calm down. Plus, to stop spams and raids, we have a role just for newbies that haven't been verified, so it'd be nice to include slowmode for them.
