Auto-reply to DMs
Hi there,
With self-bots banned, I think it would be a great idea to be able to set up an auto-reply (think of it as your out of office email)
As an example I have a staff role on a certain server, and we have a normal bot which allows users to create tickets and staff can answer them etc. Sometimes users will skip this step and just go straight to sending staff a DM.
Sometimes this is okay, others I may be at work, and I believe it would be useful to be able to have an auto-reply to tell them I'm not available and to raise a ticket (of course, this couldn't be to every message, DMs are a lot different to emails, perhaps consider only 1 reply to 1 user every 30-60 mins?)
Sorry if this is a duplicate, I couldn't find anything with a simliar name.

I can't understand why people down voted your post either. But I think this idea would be very useful. I would use it for a different purpose though.
As a person with anxiety at the moment, I would love to be able to send an auto-reply to my private messages when I just can't answer to people right now. It's something simple and maybe a niche way to use it. But I know it would help with my stress for not being able to answer for days... Or months. And it would help my friends not to worry too much about why they don't have an answer yet.8 -

I agree that it's needed. It's more convenient that way when I'm studying or something like that. I do not want to be bothered with a red badge notification with DMs when I'm trying to study. It gets annoying when they clearly don't see my playing status with "Do not disturb unless urgent."

I think this feature is definitely needed, but maybe not the question-reaction idea. If you're not available, then you might as well read what the person is saying when you get back instead of looking at their responses to your multiple choice questions.

I can quote from the developer documentation:

I need this please :') I'm getting so many DMs and whilst I want to only open dms to a specific role in my server, I understand that's a bit complex but people keep dming me for something that they have a channel for in the server. I literally have my nickname set as "don't dm me unless can't resolve" but no one listens. If there's an auto reply where I can just be like "hi so if you're looking for support pls go to #support instead" it would be great (and only for a specific server).

I personally agree with most people here. Alot of us are running massive servers who have their own ticketing system and with some people thinking they are prestige to go and privately message a Admin or Staff member from a community is extremely annoying as some of us will have University work, Families to look after but we are here with over 20 messages unread and it really would help with the Auto-Reply to DMs because it will get people to understand server rules and its just less hassle.
With everything, there is always limitations, obviously as Discord is a massive company and home to us all, im sure there are ways around people abusing it to help the greater good. But overall, i dont know why this hasnt been implemented a while ago.
